I recently downloaded WhatsApp. For those familiar with Blackberries, it is a Messenger on steroids. It is cross platform and supports iPhone, Nokia and Blacberry
I’ve been using it for a while now and it has gradually substituted most of the phone functionalities of my iPhone, which makes it even more appealing for iPod users.
The core functionalities I liked:
- You sign up with your number. It is great as it is not yet another social network.
- It mixes perfectly with your Contacts and identifies those using the app
- It allows to chat seamlessly and it had very few downtimes
- You can share pictures, video, audio notes and most of all location. The latter being a great treat when you need to reach someone.
